What is Alkaline water? Regular water has a neutral pH of 7 any number under 7 on the pH scale has higher acidity (pH scale reads from 0-14). A neutral reading is that of 7; anything higher than 7 is called alkaline (basic). Why is a higher pH level better? Alkaline water with a pH higher than 7 neutralizes acid in our body especially for those who consume high amounts of processed foods, dairy, sugar and red meat. Alkaline water aids in boosting metabolism, assists the body in nutrient absorption, and is good for bone health, as it prevents acidity from the mentioned acidic foods, in corroding bones. Low pH is harmful in water as it can negatively affect health.
