I have been a nurse for the last 40 years, working in hospitals, home health, and case management. During this time, I have been an advocate for both my patients and fellow healthcare workers. I will fight for: 1. Safety from infection with adequate PPE. 2. No outsourcing & no layoff by keeping our staff local, with appropriate cross training 3. Establishing open communication for public input.... We as a Hospital District are here for the community. Today is Labor Day, a day that usually marks the end of the summer season and beginning of autumn. And a long weekend off. But not anymore! We have record breaking heat. Fires burning. COVID-19 plaguing us all. This is the time that we should have local leaders to look to for guidance. Palomar Health needs to get on the ball! Where are our local health warnings? Where can we go for help? This is why I am running for a seat on the Palomar Healthcare Board. I’ve been a practic...ing nurse the last 40 years, both inside hospitals and in homecare. I’ve always been a patient advocate. In case management, I have fought with insurance companies to allow appropriate testing, treatment, and medications. I know I’ve been doing the right thing, because I’ve been threatened both physically and verbally, but I will never stop being an advocate for my fellow workers and patients.
