North Story Wines' 2017 Hidden Hawk Ranch Petite Sirah, Mendocino County.... Only 68 cases produced of this wine from Hidden Hawk Ranch, a 70-year-old vineyard in Redwood Valley. 60 percent Whole Cluster fermentation. Aged 9 months in neutral French oak barrels. Deep, dark color, aromas of cassis, blackberry and forest floor with a bright fruit mid-palate and well-integrated, balanced tannins. Thank you so much to everyone who participated this evening in our SIP in Place with Pam Long via HSU Extended Learning Wine Studies program. I thoroughly enjoyed it and absolutely loved all of the questions. It was fun to have everyone "share" the other bottle they opened in addition to my wine. The wine that I shared was the 2017 El Galpón Pinot Noir from @bkosugewines. I was so nervous opening my wine next to his. Hoping it would measure up to my former boss and mentor.
