In these troubled times, a highlight for our school was the online New Year's 2021 seminar and zoom discussion given this past weekend. Thank you Master Dou Wanchun for the fabulous online Liánhuánquán class. This is an advanced Baji form which is a treasure of our system.

So many people are asking about our taichi program. Here are pictures of me with Grandmaster Chan Kowk Wai at his academy in Brazil performing taichi.

On behalf of all of the members of the Los Angeles Shaolin Wugong & Taiji Academy, I would like to sincerely thank Shifu Dou Wanchun for the excellent seminar given this February 2019. We all learned so much that our minds and bodies are all gratefully exhausted. During the 7 seminar days over two and a half weeks, Shifu taught forms from three different styles: Qxng Tángláng Dàjiàshìquán (seven star praying mantis big gesture set). ... Choiléihftmùhn Sung Fiwùhdihp Du (double butterfly swords set). Bjíquán This is the third Baji set that we have learned and it is the set performed by Grandmaster when he was honored by Gongfu masters in Vancouver. I always say this, but it bears repeating: Shifu is not only a great teacher, the best and most knowledgeable student of our grandmaster Chan Kowk Wai, but he is extremely generous and thorough in his teaching. His goal is to have us learn the beautiful forms in our traditional lineage and he holds nothing back. I express once again our gratitude to Shifu Dou Wanchun for an outstanding seminar. ` Gng Xiolóng Méntú

Teaching the class Louhan #3, such a great form. Thought I would show a small portion of it here. Let me know if you would like to learn Northern Shaolin, we are here in Los Angeles.

Gu, our founding father, was a son of Gu Lizhi (), an adept of Tantui and Zhaquan and security and escort businessman (at the time, a common business for martial artists in China). Gu Yu-jeung inherited by his father's colleague Yán Jwn ()aka the 10 North Shaolin routines, several weapon routines, and martial qigong techniques such as Iron Palm, Iron Body and Golden Bell. By such skills he was selected by the Central Guoshu Institute to teach Northern martial arts to the South as one of the "Five Southbound Tigers". Gu also learned Zhaquan from Yú Zhènshng (); Yang Taijiquan and Bajiquan from Li Jinglin (); and Baguazhang, Xingyiquan from Sn Lùtáng ().

The Founder of our Traditional Northern Shaolin System of Kung Fu which we Practice Today . . . In its broadest sense, Northern Shaolin (Chinese: ; pinyin: Bishàolín; Cantonese Yale: Bak-siu-làhm) refers to the external (as opposed to internal) martial arts of Northern China referring to those styles from the Northern Shaolin Monastery in Henan. At its most specific, Northern Shaolin refers to a style called Northern Shaolin Boxing School (Chinese: ; Cantonese Yale: Bak-siu-làhm Kyun-mun [1]), disseminated by Gu Yu-jeung (18941952; also known as Ku Yu-cheung or, in Pinyin, Gu Ruzhang).

On behalf of all of the members of the Los Angeles Shaolin Wugong & Taiji Academy, I would like to thank Shifu Dou Wanchun for his excellent seminar given this February 2018. We all learned so much that our minds are replete and we are all gratefully exhausted. Shifu prefaced the seminar with a regular class in which he corrected forms and explained how to self-correct and train better to develop proper Gngf. He used his tried and true clapping method, in which the class... performed one move or series of moves which were then corrected and refined in great detail. Even my classmate Gianni Scatoloni and I who had studied many of these forms over many years learned new moves and techniques and corrected moves that had drifted astray. Shifu covered Lóngquán (Lianbuquan), Shílù Tántu, Shí’èrlù Tántu, Gnglìquán, Dund, Méihuquán, Chunxn, Wyì, Bábù, and the first Luóhànquán learned at a previous seminar. During the 6 seminar days over two and a half weeks, Shifu taught forms from two different styles: Dàbjí and Dì’èrlù Luóhànquán (Luohan 2). We had previously learned Xiobjí and Luohan 1 and the new forms he taught added dimension and technique to our knowledge of those styles. The Dàbjí and Dì’èrlù Luóhànquán were each learned in one day giving us time to review more old forms. I am extremely proud that our smart students learned these new forms so quickly and with such enthusiasm due to Shifu's expert and concise teaching. On the Sunday seminar days we learned the Yang two-person Taiji, the Yángshì Tàijíquán Chi. We did not have enough time to learn this complicated and detailed form to perfection, so Shifu is kindly sending us video from the Czech Republic to help get this form down. He is not only a great teacher, the best and most knowledgeable student of our grandmaster Chan Kowk Wai, but he is extremely generous and thorough in his teaching. His goal is to have us learn the beautiful forms in our traditional lineage and holds nothing back. I express once again our gratitude to Shifu Dou Wanchun for an outstanding seminar. ` Gng Xiolóng Méntú
