‘Hurt: If you feel unloved or carry feelings of deep hurt, you will notice a sense of heaviness in your heart. A deep, unresolved hurt is likely to manifest as a heart condition. Sadness and grief, which can cause respiratory problems, often accompany hurt; the lungs feel too tired to even breathe normally and easily.’ Andreas Moritz

‘Fear: Fear is a form of negative awareness that can take the shape of a negative emotion. All negative emotions are rooted in fear. Although they occur on the level of our mind, they have profound effects on the body as well. Fear affects every cell in the body, particularly the kidneys and the adrenal glands. The adrenals respond by secreting adrenaline and other stress hormones into the blood stream, which drastically alters the functioning of every cell, muscle and organ in the body. If fear is strong enough, it can practically paralyze a person. Fear normally results in frustration, and frustration causes anger.’ Andreas Moritz

‘Insecurity: If you feel insecure in your life, your bladder may begin to contract and urination become difficult or even painful. Bladder constriction may lead to frequent urination, especially during the night, and be accompanied by strong burning sensations. Bladder infection has become a common ailment among women who feel insecure and unprotected in their lives. Being defensive is a typical sign of feeling insecure.’ Andreas Moritz

‘Anger: We only become angry if we have already ‘compiled’ a sufficient amount of fear and frustration. Through a ‘provocative’ situation, the accumulated anger may become released. Even a minor annoyance can be the trigger for a powerful emotional explosion. We may feel the anger rising up in our body until it bursts out in the form of mental or, as is in some cases, physical violence. During such moments of anger, some sensitive people report that they feel pain in the liv...er, which is caused by retention of toxins. As a measure of protection, the liver releases large amounts of fats that subsequently clog up the blood vessels and cause coronary heart disease. Bottled up aggression or anger can virtually burn up the heart; the lesions that develop around the coronary arteries look very much like burns. Anger also changes the flora of the gallbladder, bile ducts and small intestine. Everyone who becomes angry easily has large numbers of gallstones in his liver and gallbladder, which causes irritation and inflammation of the mucous lining in the intestines and the stomach. Gastritis and stomach ulcers, for example, are some of the most typical psychosomatic diseases to be directly associated with stress and anger. Constant anger drives up blood pressure and weakens the immune system, which predisposes a person to all sorts of infections. Anger also triggers the release of noradrenalin, a normally very useful hormone that becomes enormously damaging under the influence of heavy stress. If the body is not given an outlet for releasing the tension, each bit of repressed anger becomes the reason for a new outburst, more powerful than the previous one.’ Andreas Moritz

The opposite of healing - is fear. If you are fearful, it will interrupt almost anything we can give you. We can’t get past fear; YOU can’t get past fear. It s...tops it all. Even with good health, good nutrition. Because true healing is done with a consciousness - and not objects and remedies. It has to do with your consciousness agreeing with what you are doing, in order to send your body messages of hope and joy, compassion and healing. And if you’re afraid, it all simply stops at that wall called fear. Kryon

‘Stress is caused by being ‘here’ but wanting to be ‘there’, or being in the present but wanting to be in the future. It’s a split that tears you apart inside. To create and live with such an inner split is insane. The fact that everyone else is doing it doesn’t make it any less insane.’ Eckhart Tolle

I am deeply missing this beautiful Sugar Shack space I had devotedly put together. It was a sanctuary for both me and my clients, a safe place to step into your wounds and be witnessed, your pains and be soothed and your soul and find peace. It was a haven of love and healing. I am grateful for every being who entered that room with me and felt its presence and embrace. I am back to work again, and that feels good. My space here at the new house is evolving, sufficiently equipped, smells pretty good and now just waits for each of you. I am here.

This week I shall start to assemble my studio piece by piece, already had some help from A. Muzda Enterprises, Banyan Botanicals and Chandi with oils, ghees and potions, all suppliers I have used for many years. Thank you to them. I shall be gathering equipment again and working on my website, a few updates required. I shall start seeing clients again November 1st. Let me know if you would like to schedule. I look forward to seeing you all again and reestablishing some normalcy to my days.

To all my dear clients, In case you are unaware, I lost my home and beloved Ayurvedic studio in the recent wildfire in Bonny Doon. It has been over a month and the shock waves seem to be getting louder not quieter. With many many kindnesses we are getting through. We go back and forth on whether we will rebuild, the prospect is overwhelming.... but I suspect in the end my partner and I will gather the courage and more than likely embark in that direction. My studio amongst o...ther things on property was uninsured, as were all the contents. My community and clients rallied and there is now enough $$ to create another Sugar Shack somewhere. THANK YOU! Hard to express how grateful I am for this, the loss of my studio has sat almost bigger in my pains than our home, it is where I sit and hold space for each of you and tap into deep roots of love for you all and that space became sacred to me. It shall return in some form thanks to you all. In the meantime I am hoping to have a space where we can work together real soon. I am needing a hiatus to put my s**t back together as well as my heart, but my plan is to be up and running again by November 1st somewhere. I hope to see you all soon. In deep love and gratitude. Here are a few photos from before and after. See more

From a research article on how to build resilience....how appropriate.... Interviews with large numbers of highly resilient individuals those who have experienced a great deal of adversity and have come through it successfully show they share the following characteristics. They have a positive, realistic outlook. They don’t dwell on negative information and instead look for opportunities in bleak situations, striving to find the positive within the negative.... They have a moral compass. Highly resilient people have a solid sense of what they consider right and wrong, and it tends to guide their decisions. They have a belief in something greater than themselves. This is often found through religious or spiritual practices. The community support that comes from being part of a religion also enhances resilience. They are altruistic; they have a concern for others and a degree of selflessness. They are often dedicated to causes they find meaningful and that give them a sense of purpose. They accept what they cannot change and focus energy on what they can change. Dr. Southwick says resilient people reappraise a difficult situation and look for meaningful opportunities within it. They have a mission, a meaning, a purpose. Feeling committed to a meaningful mission in life gives them courage and strength. They have a social support system, and they support others. Very few resilient people, said Dr. Southwick, go it alone.
