Dear Fellow Members, I never imagined I would be sending a notification that we were closing due to a pandemic when this Elk year started in April. I'm sure you can imagine my feelings in having to send the same message for a second time. It is my duty to report that the Lodge will be closed as part of Governor Newsom's order for the closure of outdoor dining restaurants. The current order is for a period of no less than 3 weeks.... I promise that as soon as we are allowed again to reopen, we will get back up and running in a timely manner. It was great to see those of you in the Lodge while we were able to reopen since last July. We had some great days and nights in the lodge while we could. I look forward to re-opening as soon as possible. As Elks we do our best to strive not only to be a pillar of the community in our charitable acts, but also in the timeliness and manner in which we respond to the rules put upon us to ensure our members and their guests health and safety. As such, we will be closed beginning tomorrow until further notice. Thank you for your patience and support during this trying time. This message comes to you with a heavy heart but also with a hope that things will get back to where we once were again. Please stay safe and I pray that all remain well during this period. Motorcycle and Gun groups meet tonight! First meeting at 6pm. Lodge opens at 5. Food must be purchased to attend and meetings take place on our outdoor patio area. Please see below from Oscar our motorcycle group chairman and Lodge Esquire. Hello All! Had an awesome ride this last Saturday! The traffic lights were on our side!!! I will be discussing our ride in our next email and providing meeting notes from tonight. I just wanted to remind everyone that we do have a me...eting tonight at 6PM Newport Harbor Lodge. Important Agenda Items for tonight... 1.Tonight is the night for those who would like to get in on the second wave of patch orders ($75 covers your patches and Anchors Deep Motorcycle Group Membership for the year). For those of you who have paid your dues for the year, tonight is the night to confirm your patch order with me and make sure I have you marked off on my list, please. I expect the first order of patches that were placed a couple of weeks ago, to be here within the next week or two. 2. We will be discussing a Covid-19 "Check on our members" ride that will take place possibly a weekday and will consist of checking in on our members who may be more susceptible to Covid by dropping off a care package from the lodge to their doorstep. This is not in stone and hope to make a more concrete decision at tonight's meeting. 3. Discuss a possible short lunch or dinner weekday ride. Discuss our Monthly, November Ride (Possible Idea of a San Diego Route Ride with a date of November 7th). Please join us tonight,5-6pm for a limited menu as always for food. Cocktails will be available for purchase. Our Anchors Deep Group meeting will take place from 6-7 and immediately after our Gun Group will also be hosting their monthly meeting from 7-8pm. ****PLEASE REMEMBER TO PURCHASE YOUR HALLOWEEN PARTY TICKETS.
