Hello parents and players - We have extended Winter League Registration to this Friday 10/5. Please do not hesitate to register as the league is filling-up quickly and the price goes up $50.00 on Saturday 10/6. Newport-Mesa National Junior Basketball (NMNJB) is a long-running youth basketball league and has developed some of the best basketball players in the local area. We offer clinic league for 1st-2nd graders, and leagues for 3rd-4th, 5th-6th and 7th-8th grade boys & gi...rls. The play is competitive and parent-coached, and all skill level players are welcomed. The format is designed to develop skills and an increased love for the game of basketball. Signups are open now (www.newporthoops.com) and will fill up quickly, so make sure to register before the end of September (or you'll have to pay a late fee if we still have spots open and you register after 10/5). Our fees are the same as last season, $240.00 plus an NJB card for the season. Player evaluations and team drafts will take place in mid-October, practices start in early November, and games start in November as well. Practices are an hour on Saturdays and games are about an hour on Sundays (except for a couple weeks in the season when there are games on both Saturday and Sunday). Hello parents, friends, family & the basketball community - One of our own (Coach Jason Simco) lost his brother to a three-year battle with cancer on Saturday. We all know Wes, the family and his son very well. We are looking to hep the family in this time of need with both meals and raising funds to help them. He was surrounded by his loved ones at his bedside. He was an amazing son, brother and most of all father. He’s survived by his wife Christina, son Kaiden and daughter Presley. Thank you to everyone who has shown support to our family since his diagnosis. He battled cancer for 3 years, with 90+ rounds of chemo, numerous surgeries, multiple trials in Mexico, all while still attending most every event for his children leading up to the end. . If you can find it in your heart to assist the family financially in this time of need we will really appreciate it. Wes leaves behind his brother, wife, and 2 children age 7 & 13.
