Hello to all, Well here it is the Sixth Sunday in Easter and not only do we celebrate this Risen Lord, but we also reach out to our moms and say, thank you mom, I love you. Today we use the Gospel lesson about love to reflect on the love we have for our mothers. My 97 year mom remains strong and my only regret is I am unable to see her at this time because of the significant Covid restrictions in Canada. But I get to see her Sunday afternoon on Facetime so I am excited. I ...hope and pray you feel the same about your mom and can spend time with her either directly or via some technology. Enjoy the service ... God bless Here is the link to the YouTube video of the service. https://youtu.be/JGF0InmwqKY

HE IS RISEN INDEED HALLELUJAH Bible Study April 21, 2021... Scripture: Matthew 10:1-14 The Disciples start their journey to become Apostles. The Liturgical Season approaching is Pentecost and we will be discussing events leading up to Pentecost. In preparation for our Bible Study, a brief summary of events leading to our session and historical background are presented below. Background: Pentecost was a celebration that occurs 50 days from the start of Passover. The celebration so named is first spoken of in Exodus 23:16 as "the feast of harvest," and again in Exodus 34:22 as "the day of the first fruits" ( Numbers 28:26). The manner in which it was to be kept is described in Leviticus 23:15-19 ; Numbers 28:27-29 . Besides the sacrifices prescribed for the occasion, everyone was to bring to the Lord his "tribute of a free-will offering" ( Deuteronomy 16:9-11 ). The purpose of this feast was to commemorate the completion of the grain harvest. Its distinguishing feature was the offering of "two leavened loaves" made from the new corn of the completed harvest, which, with two lambs, were waved before the Lord as a thank offering. The day of Pentecost is noted in the Christian Church as the day on which the Spirit descended upon the apostles, and on which, under Peter's preaching, so many thousands were converted in Jerusalem ( Acts 2 ). Study Information: Jesus of Nazareth began his ministry at approximately 30 years of age. There were a number of events prior to the start of his ministry. You will recall that Jesus was first baptized by his cousin John (Matthew 3:13-17; Mark 1:1-11; Luke 3:21-22; John 1:29-34). After John was arrested, He was then tempted by Satan (Matthew 4:1-11; Mark 1:12-13). After the temptations by Satan, Jesus calls his first disciples and begins preaching, healing, and casting out demons. Matthew as well of the each of the other Gospels (Mark, Luke and John) present miracles performed by Jesus, as well as his teachings (see Matthew 5:1-48; 6:1-34; 7:1-27). The consequence of Jesus’ teachings and miracles resulted in larger and larger crowds gathering to hear his words. Jesus saw the crowds grow and had compassion for the people. To him, the people were like sheep without a shepherd. Jesus conveys this situation to his disciples in Matthew 9:37-38 Then he said to his disciples, The harvest is plentiful, but the laborers are few; therefore, pray earnestly to the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into his harvest. Pastor Chris and I look forward to seeing you at the Bible Study this Wednesday, April 21. Scripture cited are from the English Standard Version of The Holy Bible, 2011edition.

Good day to all, With Lent only a few weeks away, it is hard to believe that the Corona virus has been with us for almost a year. It will soon be a year since I started these weekly videos, but for some 70 people, they get the chance to worship at home or with friends. Please forward this message and link to anyone you think might want to worship and hear the Word spoken.... Today we talk about the calling of the disciples. They gave up everything to follow and ultimately give their lives as Martyrs (John excepted) for the sake of the Goepel. I pray you enjoy this worship service and continue to support our churches. The season of Epiphany is really focused on the arrival in Bethlehem of the three wise men from the East and ends the Sunday before Lent which this year is February 14th. In any event, today we talk about rejection and how that was so evident with Jesus and remains prominent to this day. Here are the links to the service, plus the bulletin in text and MS Word formats. Hello to all, The following is the video service and bulletin for the First Sunday after Epiphany. I want to reiterate that this video is far from from professional. I am a one man studio learning as I go along. The good news is that many people watch the video each week and it gives everyone the opportunity to forward it to friends, neighbors, family, acquaintances, and so on, so that during this time of lock down, we still can worship together. The video is being sponsor...ed by First Lutheran Church in Lucerne, CA and New Hope Lutheran Church in Foresthill, CA. Although I am officially retired, I still try to serve as best I can where there is a need and there is a need in both these churches, as they are impacted significantly by the Corona-19 virus. That said, I would appreciate you not only viewing the service, but forwarding it on to others as it is being produced for all Christians who are shut-in, lost, need to hear the Word, or just need something in their life right now. God knows the pain we are going through, and I continue to do these videos in hopes of reaching out to communities everywhere with the Good News of Jesus Christ! Let's all make a concerted effort to spread the Word to as many as we can. This week is from Luke 6, the Baptism of Jesus. I pray the message is fulfilling to you. Below is the YouTube link to the video as well as the bulletin in text and MS Word format. May God bless and bring happiness to your New Year.. In His name ... Hello again to all, It has been a very difficult year. We go into the Christmas week being shut down for the most part. It is almost impossible to believe that Christmas 2020 will be welcomed in without that traditional carol service on Christmas Eve. The good news, however, is we have technology that allows us to still share in the joy of this day face to face via the internet. ... This week's service is specific to the fourth candle on the Advent wreath, the Angel's Candle or more importantly, the candle of love which is what Jesus brought us with the new covenant to love God and love our neighbor. May you all have a very merry Christmas ... May God continue to richly bless you and yours this day and always. Hello to all, It is amazing how time flies. It is almost a year since the Covid 19 virus changed everything about our lives. The reality of the impact became evident to me again this week when the governor of our state laid down a stay at home edict and churches are still not considered an essential service. Very sad, especially at Christmas. The good news is we have a means whereby the Word of God can be made accessible to all. The internet and YouTube and a video.... The service this week is specific to the third candle, the candle of joy or the Shepherd's candle. Some churches have a pink candle for this Sunday, pink being the color that represents joy. Joy to the world, the Lord has come! Here is the link to the YouTube video. Have a blessed week and get ready for the Christmas Eve video! I pray that God richly blesses you and yours this day and always. God bless ... Pastor Chris https://youtu.be/XVGYAGhIJxA

Hello to all. I pray you are all having a blessed Advent season as we eagerly anticipate the coming of Christ. This season, I am focusing on the meaning of each Advent candle. There are some differences between how denominations view the meaning of each, but as Lutherans, we typically view the Second Candle as the "Bethlehem or Peace or even Faith Candle". Whichever the case, the message is clear - Prepare the way for the coming of the Lord The link below will take you to ...the YouTube video(s). https://youtu.be/qNDW7QzPupA I pray this message will be uplifting to you and yours.
