Last heavy double of prep for squats. 250x2 with a loose ass self wrap lol Finally got to squat and trap slaps with @swolebi_won - only took forever @scottmiller5
270 was the max in May. 280 for a dub today. I’ll take it. @scottmiller5
440 for a PR triple. An impromptu squat session at the end of the nationals meet so I could have @scottmiller5 watch me. My best triple before was 425 or so. Also first day back in a belt. It was good to be at a meet again at @ironmongersgym . The energy is always infectious.
Whatsup Nerdz On this week's episode, we answer some of your questions about meet prep and meet day, as well as go over our own tactics. Myself and Miss Amber Dawn are both in prep and also discussed where we are and what goals we have leading into our competitions.... Hopefully this episode is informative and will help new lifters heading into their first meet, as well as anyone just getting their powerlifting toes wet. See more
I saw one of my friends talk about how they are having TMJ and SCM problems, and decided to share some self massage techniques and why it’s important. For lifters it can effect your bracing and head position more and more drastically overtime. Hit me up with questions if you have any.
I was inspired by my friends @johnromaniello & @thehealthymindmovement to share a thought that: Healing will not make you boring. Many develop a type of Stockholm Syndrome to their traumas or hang ups and fear the new identity that will come from working on those. Some just don’t want to do the work at all. So when you begin to workout, eat cleaner, make healthier habits, get therapy, or anything else that may reflect back and trigger others unresolved issues - THEY WILL GI...VE YOU RESISTANCE AND MAKE YOU FEEL BAD ABOUT IT. But it’s important to keep focused and surround yourself with equal or more support in contrast to the resistance. Hope whoever needs a reminder of this hears it today.
Usually double post and I still don’t care cuz I’m happy Bench is moving okay. Thanks for commands @the_rebelle_inblack as usual. I do better with commands - I’m weird.
I’m drenched. I’m tired. It’s hot. These were rough. Thanks for the push @the_rebelle_inblack. 413.4 for 3x3... @scottmiller5
Knee valgus is hugely common in squats and even sometimes the deadlift, and also common in lifting is adductor strains. This usually comes from not properly tensioning there adductors within the lift. I had the same issue. There is a lot of great info from wise coaches out there and I urge you to watch any of them you can find. So nothing new here; This is just my interpretation of these principles that have helped me.
We are the Knights who say Yeet. 451/205kg for a simple 3x3 then back downs that felt just okay. But the speed looks decent and my work capacity feels more improved. So we can count the little wins. My bloody shins have no chill doe @scottmiller5
What’s up, Nerdz! The @nerdswholiftpodcast have teamed up with @nicholas_anderson_vta to construct a custom singlet for me for my next competition. They also were kind enough to make us a Comp shirt. And it’s pretty dope. ... So @a.dawn.vicious and I wanted to put it up for a pre order if any y’all fancy to snag one. We will take orders for the next few weeks to see if we can get enough. Just reach out to me or Amber and we will set it up. Thanks y’all! - Nicholas
Breakin in the new @pioneer_fit Phantom wraps and it’s a bit of a shift. But some calibrating to them I’m curious to see how it goes. 407 at 3x3
