Days Gone By.... Had a chance to drive past the Veterans Memorial Building this past week, checked out some of the work that has been done in the new play area and talked with some of the staff. I was informed that there is a great website that the city has that will tell what should be happening and an update of what projects will be taking place. Check it out, get caught up on what’s going on in Redwood City. I have to admit it is exciting to learn what Redwood City w...ill look like, but I spent some time reflecting on the changes that have taken place growing up in this town. I was standing on the very spot that was nothing more than a field that at Easter time we were sent out -after the count of 3 to collect Easter eggs, sign up for swimming lessons in the Rec pool, (Red Cross lessons) and 20 years later a Wedding reception at the Memorial Building .... a few years after that, spending hours at the baseball field, Pop Warner Football with my own kids. Those years went by faster than the past 12 months, but here we are almost ready to get out again; seeing our old friends in person, kids playing sports, school, checking out what stores are still open, what meeting we will be attending. Everyone will be talking about how we handled staying home this past year but one thing for sure, always sharing how it was back when....

Bonita Sisters meet in Redwood City to attend a Virtual Tea Party Hosted by the Donner Parlor. Bonita Members, Pres Deanna Liotta, Barbara Gabriel, Marge Peralta, Helen Cocco,Barbara Pettit, Joyce James and Suzie Riley - taking time out from work to attend virtually, participate in the afternoon tea, enjoying scones, cookies, cake, and of corse tea sandwiches Bonita gals have no problem finding something to talk about when we get together or enjoying the refreshment. We were happy to virtually see our Grand Officers along with Donner own members at this fun Tea Party and enjoyed getting an update on what's been happening at the home during the past months. We eagerly wait for the day we can visit it again and happy to make a donation to help support our S.F. Home
