Just moments ago NUSD and the Natomas Teachers Association signed an MOU for a return to in-person learning. This is a complex MOU and we will communicate more next week. For now, the earliest in-person instruction will return is December 14. The date to return will be depend on the CA Dept of Public Health’s county tiered system and some key benchmarks. This MOU supports a family’s decision to return to in-person or stay in Distance Leading. It includes the concurrent learni...ng we have communicated about. It also takes extraordinary safety actions for students and staff. This includes a creative solution for 40 interim positions to allow certificated staff who meet criteria to work remotely for health reasons. It extends the NUSD/NTA contract to June 30, 2022 and protects jobs for 2021-22. Much appreciation to all NUSD leaders who supported this MOU. And much thanks to NTA leaders. Your willingness to talk, listen, meet in the middle and face this pandemic together is much appreciated. Now please, everyone, have a safe Halloween. We will go quiet for a few days and prepare a thorough outline to share soon. Chris Evans, Supterintendent See more

As we prepare for a transitional reopening, we’re educating our students on what they need to do before leaving home to school and while they are at school to help with a healthy and safe environment. This video does not contain all of the safety precautions, but it’s a broad overview for children/teens. Families can visit https://natomasunified.org//student-safety-central-videos/ for more videos and resources. https://youtu.be/AAoBy8YhxXU
