Today you might find a #shelbyrosabal where... a happy looking girl is having breakfast with her "dogs." I found a photograph of pigeons beneath a row of sparrow nests -- when we snap the shot at high speed or slowly draw up the cereal spoon, those sincere feelings of friendship, we too get looks in thin seconds. -The courtroom for Nia Wilson was lawyers, cops, and judges. Like old molds from polished mallard ducks you could run a finger over and catch dust - just cleaning around... I watched a thin woman slink around with her palm overturned like the tree. She needed answers... --felt like a decade away from answers to her questions... no-justice-no-peace , Nia Wilson (portrait), shirts were given to us (thank you Eduardo & Scholl Sophie). Nia's family liked the shirts -- Ni...a's nephew took a shirt -- and we got to meet Nia’s family. Two POC men were taken in on felony charges and one white man was arraigned. The latter looked into his girlfriend’s eyes as he walked back to her with a smirk so disassociated from all of us wearing red. He's never going to get through that new bracelet breathalyzer program: "SCRAM." * So surreal a day -- I was yelled at by a cop to leave a courtroom when I double checked to see if my phone was off. I told the officer I would gladly leave. That was downstairs after #NIAWILSON That was listening to some of Max's testimony #GhostshipTrials - NOTES // The defense promised that by 6.28.19 at 8:30am a phycologist's report would be available. She made many bubbles of skin/flesh-tone formations. Martín said these were made from a mixture of propriety. I guessed part polyurethane foam. Insulation puf intestines where La Virgin De Guadalupe or Virgin Mary and baby jesus were all popping out of viscera. Then graffiti was sprayed on top. A high gloss cherry red. One piece had words in high gloss black drips SOY MERICA It seemed to me a play on the whole deal. Like finding big boobs on an alien petroglyph rock-car...ving while squatting over a stone. The work stands like a wingspan to hold space for people like me who experience gender dysmorphia and can’t really touch the sides of the room sometimes. Also, Christian iconography made it clear Catholicity; the idea that we must conform to catholic law, was at the root of visual intestinal rejections. That was more than just a conversational piece for me. Maybe one of the reasons Martin’s audio reel evaded my ear were the brightly lit-sculpture of angel candles, on cinder-blocks, in the center of the room. These were fashioned from a mold. In ceramics, a layer called slip is added to cover a thin layer inside a mold. Here the artist used wax. White wax was added until it cooled in the angel-cherub-head and then another layer and another layer were added until they dried again then the artist filled the center with red wax. When we talk about the golden calf, we can’t forget our ‘Christian God’ wanted us to burn all false idols. Hahahaha that’s so good, our perception of Angel is our false idoland they bleed a burnt-red pigment that turns brown brown brown when we melt them down. --- Thanks Martin. I was delighted.
