Cal Chamber has recently weighed in on the Cal/OSHA vote regarding its Emergency Temporary Standards: https://advocacy.calchamber.com//cal-osha-adopts-rules-to/ We will continue to update you as changes happen. Employers are now required to provide N95 respirator masks to employees upon request.
News alert: As of April 1, 2021, the COVID-19 related leaves of absence have been extended and modified through ARPA. Not to be outdone, California has enacted it's own SB-95 that will go into effect on Monday, March 26, that requires 80 hours of supplemental paid sick leave for COVID-19 related reasons. This will be retroactive to January 1 of this year. Some of this leave can be paid through the federal tax credits. If you have questions, please do not hesitate to reach out. 951-216-5474
SHRM recently published a study that stated a "concern is polls that show many workers don't want to return to the way things were before the pandemic. SHRM found that over half (52 percent) of 1,000 U.S. workers would choose to permanently work from home on a full-time basis if given the option." This can be problematic for several reasons. It may be difficult to get workers back into the jobsites and it makes it absolutely imperative that employers have compliant COVID-19 protocols in place if they do bring workers back. New regulations have been required by Cal/OSHA. There were also several laws passed regarding COVID-19 compliance in businesses. To find out if you are compliant, please call today to book a free consultation (951)216-5474. #humanresources ##covid19preparation ##HR
As of February 25, 2021, the California Supreme Court ruled in Donohue v. AMN Services that employers CANNOT use rounding in their timekeeping practices during meal breaks. If you would like a free consultation to ensure your timekeeping practices are compliant, please call today (951-216-5474).
