The CA Legislature estimates that eliminating money bail will likely cost hundreds of millions of dollars per year Replacing bail agents with county probation staff will cost local governments $900 million and reduce state tax revenue by $21 million per year. The state is facing a $54 billion deficit thanks to COVID-19 why do we want to dig ourselves deeper in a hole?

Prop 25 is BAD for Communities of Color & the Poor California’s justice system guarantees people accused of a crime the right to choose bail Prop 25 would totally eliminate that right and choice.... The right to choose bail would be replaced by a system of profiling based on complicated computer-generated formulas. Civil rights groups like the NAACP oppose Prop 25 because it will create more biased outcomes against people of color and the poor. Prop 25 will be even more discriminatory against African-Americans, Latinos and other minoritiesusing these profiling methods to decide who gets released from jailhas been proven to hurt communities of color.
