Mustang President Dianne McKay, VC Community College Board was asked recently to give some insight about the challenges ahead as the Ventura County Community College District looks toward bringing students back to campus. "Our primary post-pandemic objectives as we return to campus are protecting the health of our students and employees, removing economic barriers and increasing diversity to create an environment where each of our students can safely learn and progress." We spy with our little eye ... Mustang President Dianne McKay helping out with the weekend food distribution for Safe Passage Youth Foundation. Safe Passage provides essential support to hundreds of families in our community each week, and Dianne volunteers on the organization’s board. Supporting our community is core to Mustang.

We no longer get to have our "conference room birthday parties," but we wanted to wish our designer, Angie, a very happy birthday! We are so lucky to have you as a part of our Mustang family and are always blown away by your creativity and design work!

Congratulations to our director of marketing, Jess Weihe, who was named "Ambassador of the CAN" for Food Share of Ventura County's 9th Annual Can-Tree event! Jess used her community blog to raise funds (nearly 70 people donated) to purchase cans to assemble five can-trees, plus gathered can donations to build an additional two can-trees ... all together totaling more than 4,000 cans of food. We were proud to help sponsor her effort this year! Food Share announced today that their event raised enough to provide 120,000 meals to the food-insecure in our community. Great job to all those who participated!

Bringing holiday cheer where we can is so important right now. We scooped up a few gifts to provide to the justice center, as well as to Safe Passage Youth Foundation. We'll never stop saying: we all have to be in this together.

Getting creative is one of the best parts of our job. We love developing campaigns with our clients. This one's an oldie, but a goody! Plus, it's even better when the results pay off. This "Below Average" campaign for Ventura County Credit Union generated a 40 % increase in credit card registration and it was a ton of fun. Others apparently agreed, as we won a Graphic Design USA award for the campaign as well!

#throwbackthursday Four years ago, instead of pitching press releases, Mustang received one! Tired of sending the same old cover letter, our director of marketing, Jess Weihe, decided to make sure we'd read the email in our inbox. We brought her in the next afternoon and the rest is Mustang history.

Responding to requests for proposals (RFPs) can be a lot of work, but our favorite part is seeing our "previous work examples" section come together. It was great collaborating with the County of Ventura in supporting their Census awareness efforts, as well as on their new logo. P.S. Today is the LAST DAY you can take the Census. Get counted! Our director of marketing, Jess Weihe, will be speaking at this Thursday's Rotary Club of Moorpark Morning meeting about her nonprofit Conejo Community Outreach and the resources it provides to the community, including its community diaper bank, which has distributed more than 125,000 diapers to families throughout the County of Ventura.
