Guardian Statue, 18th Dynasty. Flanking the entrance of the tomb and celebrating King Tur’s Nubian heritage, both statues were painted with black resin, a color that symbolically associated the dark, regenerative alluvial soil of the Nile with the ebony skin of Osiris at the time of his resurrection. #museum #coachellavalley #kingtut #cathedralcity #palmsprings #museumtours #egypt #art #exhibitions #archaeology #reopeningsoon #moaw Please visit our website at www.moaw.org
