For the past year, we have all been dealing with dramatic and unexpected events. Amid such uncertainty, there is only one way to feel at peacethe real peace th...at passes all understanding. On this Palm Sunday, I invite you to make this coming week truly holy by rememberingnot just the palms that were waved to honor the entrance of Jesus into Jerusalembut by remembering the palms of His hands. After all that Jesus Christ did for you, I invite you to do something this week to follow His teachings. You might make your prayers more earnest. You could forgive someone or help a friend in need. You can start today on a new spiritual quest. Stake Drive to Help Community Pantry Dear Members of the Murrieta Stake In our ongoing relationship with St. Martha’s Community Pantry, and during these troubled times, we are having a Stake Donation Drive for cereal, canned vegetables (especially corn and green beans), and feminine hygiene pads to help as needed by St Martha’s Community Pantry.... The Work Continues amid COVID-19

Here is some important and exciting information about Seminary this Fall and possibly beyond. Seminary will still be Tuesday Friday every week, beginning Tuesday, August 25th, and following the school schedule for holidays and breaks. Seminary will begin at 6:30 am, will last about 40 minutes and will be all virtual. You will all receive more detailed information at the Seminary Kick-off Fireside on Sunday, August 23rd at 4 pm, via ZOOM, but here is a summary of what semin...ary will look like. Tuesdays and Thursdays, students will have an online learning experience on CANVAS that they will do on their own and complete. There will be three options each day for the students to choose from. These are interactive assignments with embedded videos and activities, and with opportunities to share insights and questions with their teacher and other students in their class. Wednesdays and Fridays, teachers and students will meet face to face in a ZOOM (virtual) classroom, where they will be able to discuss the learning experiences they all had the previous day. They’ll have additional discussions, instruction and activities those days. You will be receiving information very soon about how to register your student for seminary. EVERY student will need to register in the new seminary program. (CES, church-wide, has a new software they’re usingthus the need to re-register). They will also need to have their own account in churchjesuschrist.org (so you can work on that part now). As we are now many months into the COVID-19 pandemic, I thought I might share some of what I have learned. I have felt great sorrow about this pandemic. I have ...mourned with families who have lost loved ones. Many have lost jobs. Some have struggled to find adequate food and supplies. Graduation ceremonies, marriages, and funerals have been canceled or postponed or altered in some way. I feel great compassion for all who have suffered. At the same time, Wendy and I have learned so much. Even through clouds of sorrow, we have found some silver linings. Many families have re-enthroned their homes as sanctuaries of faith. Many better understand how important the family is and that it really is ordained of God, with an eternal destiny. We’ve also learned fear, isolation, and loss can be mitigated by immersing oneself in caring for other people. Countless healthcare professionals have risked their own lives to care for others. Farmers, pharmacists, truckers, grocers, and others have risked their own health to serve the urgent needs of others. Dear friends, the road ahead may be bumpy, but our destination is serene and secure. So, fasten your seatbelt, hang on through the bumps, and do what's right. Your reward will be eternal. In 1831 the Lord made a promise to his Saints. It still applies to each of us today: Wherefore, be of good cheer, and do not fear, for I the Lord am with you, and will stand by you; and ye shall bear record of me, even Jesus Christ, that I am the Son of the living God, that I was, that I am, and that I am to come (Doctrine and Covenants 68:6).
