God's Children: A Tribute to All Saints

This Sunday is All Saints Day. Monday is All Souls Day. Both days have been used by the church, throughout history, to remember those who have gone before us and to reflect on their influence in our lives today, and to pause and reflect on what it means that we will one day join them in Glory. As part of our worship service, we will be having a Commemoration of the Faithful Departed, which includes a chance for members to light a candle in remembrance of someone no longer wit...h us. There will also be prayers of reflection and remembrance, like the one below. If you would like to attend, please visit our website, www.incarnationmission.org, and reserve a spot so we can safely social distance while worshiping. If you would like us to participate for you, and light a candle in commemoration of someone, please let us know. You can watch our service online, or worship with us in person at 11. Just another friendly reminder that our services on Sunday are open to the public now, we just need you to reserve your spot ahead of time so we can make sure proper social distancing is in place. As we continue to navigate the pandemic, many people are looking for something to fill the emptiness they feel inside. Don’t be afraid to invite someone you know to join you at church. And if you haven’t heard, Theresa and Marina are playing Jazz on the Deck at The Fig Tree on Saturday night, from 6-9PM. Come on by and catch up with some friends you haven’t seen in a while! Monday night we are helping to serve The Gathering Inn at Valley Springs Presbyterian Church. Contact Pastor Lorraine at 916-778-9892 if you would like to help! This is a great way to help serve the homeless and needy in our community. My mom (Kathy) is going to need rides to church on Sunday from her home in Auburn. If anyone near there would like to be on rotation to help pick her up and bring her to church, let me know. And finally, our Vestry (board) will be meeting via Zoom on Sunday night at 7PM. We are so grateful that the Lickters were able to get away for a much needed mini-vacation, that the air quality is better than it was, that the weather is cooler, and that we get to see some of your faces on Sunday! There is still much to grieve in our world, but for a moment, let us give thanks.
