Coronavirus Protection Plan- Your Health and Safety To Our Patients: The health and safety of our patients and staff is always our top priority. With the growing concern surrounding the Coronavirus, we wanted to share how Mumolo & Fortes, DDS is taking precautionary steps to stay healthy. If you have an appointment scheduled and are worried you should not come into the office here are the guidelines of when you should inform us and we can help you decide if you need to resche...dule your appointment: You have had a fever within the last 48 hours You have a persistent cough/cold that doesn’t allow you to recline in the chair. At our office we continue to practice our health and safety protocol. That includes cleaning our equipment after use and sanitizing the bathrooms and common areas. Our staff also washes their hands and wrist before and after each patient contact. We have implemented an additional layer of safety by providing extra disinfected wipes/sprays and hand sanitizer for our patients and staff to use. We are also asking our patients screening questions regarding potential exposure to the coronavirus. We welcome any questions you have in regards to our sterilization procedures, but here are some examples to put your mind at ease: We sterilize all instruments according to ADA guidelines every time! Even if we don’t use the instrument during the procedure. When you see us open that hermetically sealed bag chairside, all one time use items are discarded (according to regulation) and the rest are cleaned, sealed and return our sterilizer system. Speaking of our sterilizer, we run a spore test weekly to make sure the machine is performing at peak conditions and double guaranteeing that the instruments meet and exceed ADA requirements for sterilization. We use a medical grade sanitizer on ALL surfaces of each operatory, no matter what! Even if you have a consult with the Doctors to go over treatment, all surfaces are disinfected 2x and all protective barriers are replaced with sterile ones before we welcome the next patient is welcomed into the room. We use as many one time use items as possible to further guarantee sterilization. The Center for Disease Control (CDC) recommends the following precautions to help keep you healthy and to prevent the spread of any viruses (Coronavirus included): Wash your hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds Use an alcohol-based sanitizer Keep away from others that are sick Avoid touching your face, nose, eyes, etc. Clean and disinfect household objects and surfaces in your home Avoid non-essential travel Sincerely, Dr. Mumolo and Dr. Fortes See more
