The Houston Apollos team played all 100 games as the road team during the 2021 American Association season, and the team featured many Pecos League alumni. Th...e decision was made to mint the cards as digital art on the OpenSea.io platform. This makes the 2021 Houston Apollos' cards as the first ever "team set" for any minor league baseball team's (affiliated Minor League Baseball or independent professional baseball) trading cards sold exclusively as non-fungible tokens (NFTs) purchased using cryptocurrency. The Pecos League will have cards for all 16 teams for 2022 like the Apollos did in 2021.. Matt created an overview video where he explains minor league baseball card team sets, existing NFTs from other minor league teams/leagues, and some of the featured cards of possible interest to baseball card and NFT collectors in the 2021 Apollos team card set.
