Let’s have a campfire chat about the personal and mental benefits of camping. The universal meaning of camping is left to the imagination. Maybe for you it is the memory of your favorite book with the wind wrestling just outside your tent, or the tastiest cup of cocoa you’ve enjoyed after a long day of physically traversing through peaks and valleys on your way to a mental goal and rewarding nights rest.... Whether it is venturing to your closest National Park to sleep amongst the stars, or setting up your campsite along the rugged terrain on an epic trek to K2 Base Camp. The MT Sobek family believes that camping bodies the spirit of escaping our everyday life and inspires us to embrace the enchantment of being one with mother nature. When is the last time you decided to sleep in a tent, amongst the stars with only a small barrier between yourself and the great outdoors. One of the most effective ways to reset a person’s internal clock, and engage every sense is by camping. So what are you waiting for, the outdoors are open for everyone! #mentalhealthawareness #trekking #nationalparks #outdoorslife

It's #InternationalPodcastDay! When we can't go to our adventures in person, the next best thing is to travel mentally. The next time you hit the trail (or clean the kitchen), try out one of these podcasts! If you have your own recommendations, we'd love to see them - just drop a comment. * Armchair Explorer: "The Armchair Explorer podcast is adventure storytelling set to music and cinematic effects. Each episode one of the world's greatest adventurers tell their best story... from the road. No long-winded interviews, just straight to the heart of the action." www.armchair-explorer.com * Wander Woman: "Every episode, award-winning broadcaster, travel writer, author and photographer Phoebe Smith offers a behind the scenes journey to a different destination which features interviews with locals, audio clips and vivid descriptions to make the listener feel like they are there too - without having to leave home." * Field Recordings: "A podcast where audio-makers stand silently in fields (or things that could be broadly interpreted as fields)." This is fantastically unique - natural soundscapes! www.fieldrecordings.xyz

The spirit of international community is never more clear than when celebrating the ways in which tourism brings us together and makes us stronger. MT Sobek takes pride in connecting with our destinations at the local level. A trip does not exist before the ground team is ready, and that team consists of local residents supporting their families by guiding our adventures. The global pause on international travel has been a heavy burden for us all but most keenly felt by our g...uides. Tourism is a cornerstone of the global economyno country has been unaffected and tourism is responsible for hundreds of millions of livelihoods. For travelers, tourism provides the means to experience the world’s cultural and natural riches and to bring people closer together, highlighting our common humanity. For everyone, tourism supports the protection and conservation of historical, cultural, and biodiverse heritages. The industry has been hit hard by COVID-19 but tourism is one of the most critical areas of recovery globally, especially for rural communities where it offers the opportunity to earn a living while remaining in and supporting their home. Many have asked, "How can we help?" The answer is straightforward: plan your next trip. Tourismbooking a trip and traveling, eating local, taking local excursions, and shopping for local-made goodsis one of the fastest ways a region can recover and the sooner travelers are safely there, the sooner the recovery can begin. While we’re waiting for the day we can resume our full catalog of adventures and send new travelers to far off destinations, we’ve been working on new itineraries that take into account the unique challenges travel will face upon reopening and reflect the ongoing conversations with our teams on the ground. #WorldTourismDay #AdventureTravel #Tourism
