Announcement from your Mt. SAC Theater Department: Hello to all our students, alumni, and followers. In the midst of this unprecedented situation, our priority as a faculty and staff is everyone's safety and opportunity to weather this situation with as little burden as possible. As a result, we will be moving most (if not all) of our classes online in effort to allow students wishing to gain credits for their work thus far, the opportunity to do so. We also recognize that... there are students that do not have the same resources or abilities to transition to an online version of the class without significant challenges. Equity is extremely important to us, and we are here (please use campus emails) to help you adapt as best we possibly can. Our productions of 12th Night and The Birthday Party have been officially cancelled for the semester, and may be remounted next year (official decisions on next season yet to come). However, in order to satisfy completion of some courses, there may be alternative works created and shared via streaming technology by the casts, crews, and staff. These ideas are still in beginning stages, with official announcements yet to come. If you are currently a student, please routinely check your school emails for updated instructions. You will be asked to resume class work, in some capacity, after March 28th. Until then, please take care of yourselves, utilize the school's online resources (if you are able) to aid in your adjustment to an online classroom. Thanks so much for your patience. Just as we collaborate every day in the theater, so will we *also* work together to move beyond this. Take care, everyone.

Rehearsals are in full swing for our Winter Production! Headspace: Radical Thinking Inside a Box Directed by Richard Strand February 11-13, Tues.-Thurs., 8:00 pm, Mt. SAC Studio Theater... TICKETS: https://tickets.mtsac.edu/ DESCRIPTION: Headspace is an unconventional evening of nine monologues, each delivered by a disembodied head trapped inside a box. The poor characters who have somehow misplaced their bodies are forced to consider big ideas while confined to a small space. The results range from the comic to the grim. The writers represented in this eclectic performance include Jon Jory, Richard Dresser, Cristina Luzarraga, C. Denby Swanson and Richard Strand.
