The San Bernardino County Superintendent of Schools and SBC Literacy Partners are hosting their 3rd Annual Footsteps2Brilliance Summer Reading Challenge! The challenge runs through Sept. 30 and is only 15 minutes a day. Directions for how to register and participate in the challenge are included in the attached flyers. Project Boon is holding a Drive-Thru Backpack Event & Grocery Distribution at 2pm on Sunday, July 26, at the Hitch Burger Grill (10789 Arrow Rte in Rancho Cucamonga). Backpacks filled with school supplies and groceries for families will be distributed for free while supplies last. For more information, visit projectboon.org.

Our Nutrition Services Department will be handing out Summer BBQ Family Packs on Wednesday, July 1! The BBQ Family Packs which will contain four hamburger patties, four hamburger buns, four bags of chips, four servings of fruit, a half-gallon of milk, and four Gatorades are free and available one per family. They will be handed out during our Grab-And-Go Meal Service from 10am-12pm. Free Grab-And-Go meals for anyone 18 and under, along with our new Produce Bags (one per family), will also be available. The bags contain a variety of fruits and vegetables offered to the Oro Grande School District by local farmers at a discounted rate to help support families in the community. The produce bags are free, just like our Grab-And-Go meals, and come with two half gallons of milk.
