In June 2020, the Stockton Police Department Gang Violence Suppression Unit and the California Department of Justice (CA DOJ)/California Highway Patrol (CHP) Special Operations Unit (SOU) initiated a joint investigation in conjunction with the San Joaquin County District Attorney’s Office into the criminal activities of the Asian Boyz, Muddy Boyz Crips, Lil Ruthless Criminals Comstocc Crips, Loctown Crips, and Asian Crip criminal street gangs in the City of Stockton. The oper...ation was started because of an increase in violent crime involving documented gang members of these groups in the City of Stockton. These groups were working together to benefit their gangs /subsets and the Crips criminal street gang. On Saturday, September 26, 2020, investigators received reliable information that Anthony Comans (30 yrs. old) and Kwabena Twumasi (35 yrs. old) both of Arizona, may have been traveling through and/or staying in the City of Morgan Hill. This information was passed onto the Morgan Hill Police Department and then disseminated to all Patrol Officers. At approximately 1:24 PM, MHPD Officers located Comans and Twumasi as they were exiting their 2015 Cadillac Escalade and approaching the lobby of La Quinta Inn, located at 17043 Condit Road. Both suspects were immediately contacted and detained without incident. During a search of their vehicle, Officers located and seized (21) firearms, a few of which were illegally altered to fully automatic. Comans and Twumasi were both arrested and booked into the Santa Clara County Jail for their roles in the conspiracy and illegal possession/trafficking of firearms.
***Update*** Dog owner located. Great job MH!! This cute little dog (male) was found at the dog park this morning. No collar or chip but probably local to the area. Please share and let the owner know we have him here.
Todays quiz is for the speeders, cheaters, and red light sneakers. When you see this you should..... a) Hit the gas and hope for the best. ... b) Slow down and prepare to stop. 8 drivers rushing during commute hours to make the left turn from SB Monterey Rd onto EB Cochrane Rd picked Option A yesterday and were issued a citation for not making the yellow but blowing through the red arrow, violating 21453(c) VC. Intersections are inherently more dangerous and collisions at intersections can result in more serious injuries. Rushing through the intersection puts you at risk, puts oncoming traffic and cyclists (who have the green light) at risk, puts pedestrians and kids at risk (they have the walk signal) and generally increases the likelihood of vehicle collisions and injuries. Take the few extra minutes and wait for the next green light.
Today was a good day. MHPD partnered with the Edward Boss Prado Foundation to fill 50 backpacks with goodies to help less fortunate kids. The backpacks were filled with things like soap, toothpaste, a towel, snacks, deodorant and some cash to help with anything else they might need. Special thanks for Cecelia and Gary Ponzini for starting this phenomenal foundation and helping empower people who are in need. ... Visit Edwardbossprado.org for more information or to donate.
