I am proud of the CITY of Temecula who supports Dyslexia Awareness Month This is the 3rd year in a row that the CITY of Temecula has issued a Proclamation declaring October as Dyslexia Awareness Month. The CITY of Temecula and Temecula Valley USD are two separate entities. Families who reside within the CITY of Temecula who have students with reading disabilities at Temecula Valley USD have paid out of pocket for an advocate or attorney to get their student reading remedia...tion. Temecula Valley USD has a history of litigating against students with disabilities. If I personally didn't go through this myself, hiring an attorney for a student, I would never have known that our tax dollars at Temecula Valley USD are used to pay private law firms to fight, not support students with reading disabilities. There are programs for students with reading disabilities. I am bringing awareness to the residents of Temecula, that your tax dollars are being used at Temecula Valley USD with private law firms to fight, not support students with disabilities. TVUSD has 4 law firm agreements with private law firms in Special Education.
