It’s official! The Moore Institute for Plastic Pollution Research is now open! We have many projects we are working on to enhance the knowledge of how plastics (microplastics in particular) interact with our Biosphere. Be part of the story by supporting one or all of our projects. We are currently working on 1) analyzing 2019 North Pacific Gyre samples to report on the first long term (20yrs) monitoring study of the Gyre; 2) analyzing South Pacific Gyre samples to determine t...he amounts there; and 3) and analyzing samples for an international intercalibration study to help the State of California with method standardization in light of the requirements (AB 1422) that will soon be in place to measure microplastics in our precious drinking water. How can you help? Giving Tuesday is a world-wide event on Facebook tomorrow (12/1). You can support our newly created nonprofit by clicking on the Donate button from our Facebook page any time after 5am (pst) tomorrow. Facebook will also be matching donations, so your donation has even more impact! For more information on any of our projects you can visit our website (www.mooreplasticresearch.org) or email us at [email protected]. #mooreplasticresearch #GivingTuesday
