The powerhouse of fertility Throughout February, we’re partnering with Black artists to showcase their unique expressions of fertility and reproductive health. Up next is interior designer, artist, and illustrator Marwa Talal @marwatalalcreative: ... "When I think of fertility, I think of my own journey and the journey of billions of women through millennia. The cycle of birth connects us to both our ancestral past and our offers to the future. The same challenges and joys that come with fertility are something that women regardless of belief, race, or class can connect with. When creating this piece, I wanted it to represent the powerhouse of fertility (the uterus was once home to all humankind) like the stars in a night sky. The hands gesturing the sense that we are 'taking fertility into our own hands.' The hands also double by gesturing as though to receive. The symmetry manifests the balance of the future and the past. The moons exemplify the menstruation cycle and the mysterious but powerful connection it has with the movement of the moon. We are but a small fragment of this universe, but within the uterus, we hold the universe within us. The birth of a child is a gift, like a celestial blessing that will carry the lessons we teach to the next generation and the balance of life continues." Follow along all month long for more artists and their latest masterpieces. #poweredbymf See more

As part of our Modern State of Fertility 2020: Career & Money, produced in partnership with SoFi, we asked respondents to share their stories and advice. We were floored by the volume of responses: ~1,200 people contributed their thoughts and words of encouragement. We compiled their stories into a spreadsheet organized by reasons for delaying (or accelerating) kids, reasons for being undecided or not wanting kids at all, and advice for working parents. You can browse quotes... by age, industry, and even job title. Head over to our full report, sign up, and we’ll send it your way. Let’s celebrate and create space for the many ways we navigate our careers and finances in relation to our reproductive health. https://modernfertility.com/modern-state-fertility-2020-s/
