As a property owner, should you allow tenants to make improvements to your property? As a good rule of thumb, we recommend that you ask yourself this question: "Will this improvement add to the value and desirability of my property?" Right now, many renters look for things like stainless steel appliances, granite countertops, and hardwood floors in a home. For bigger projects like these, we recommend that the owner complete them during a vacancy. For smaller things like paint...ing the walls, updating light fixtures, planting flowers, or upgrading bathroom sinks, you can choose to hand these repairs over to the tenant want to have them completed while living in the home.
