Regarding Corona Virus: what we are doing and how you can help ATUSA organization and the San Francisco Airport Marriott Hotel are working together and will take measures to offer safe tango environment for ATUSA 2020 event. In response to the Corona virus, we will be reinforcing recommended measures on appropriate hygiene standards and following the guidance of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), the World Health Organization (WHO), applicable guidelines of... the global and local health authorities, and taking relevant health and safety measures. The Hotel has well-established hygiene standards and daily cleaning procedures for all parts of the hotel to address both general cleanliness and disinfection. In addition, it is the Hotel's standard practice to provide ongoing guidance to their hotel teams to promote safety and well-being through awareness, training and the use of everyday preventative practices. We recognize that the COVID-19 virus has required all of us to be more thoughtful as we go through our daily activities. Here are what the CDC recommends individuals and families follow everyday preventive measures and also some suggestions from Sandra Kistler, RN, MSN, PHN, Infection Prevention Specialist , who is a friend, an organizer and social tango dancer in our tango community: Personal Practice: Stay home if you feel sick or if you are sick with respiratory disease symptoms. At the present time, these symptoms are more likely due to influenza or other respiratory viruses than to COVID-19-related virus. Practice hand hygiene frequently throughout the event by washing your hands with soap and water for 20 seconds or using alcohol based hand sanitizer. Absolutely take a timeout for hand hygiene with hand sanitizer or soap and water before eating. Absolutely wash your hands with soap and water for 20 seconds after using the bathroom...every single time. Keep your hands away from your face. Avoid touching eyes, nose, and mouth with unwashed hands. Notice your habits. If you are coughing or sneezing (maybe allergies) cough into your sleeve or tissue. Discard the tissue immediately. Do not use a handkerchief. If you use one, place the one time used cloth in a plastic bag and wash later. If you see someone coughing or sneezing into their hand, kindly remind them to go to the bathroom and wash their hands. Some people are actually unaware of their own habits.
