Why do we join the PTA? We usually join first because our child's teacher asks us to or because our child asks us to join to help their class get a special pri...ze. After a very short time, we see all the good that PTA does in for the kids at our school and beyond. PTA provides funding for programs such as the arts and sciences, assemblies, or field trips. PTA volunteers put on family events that bring the community into our school. PTA advocates on behalf of children and families at our school, in our state, and in our nation's Capitol as well. That is why nearly 700,000 parents, teachers, students, grandparents, community members, caregivers, aunts, uncles, and friends are a part of this organization.
