Millbrae Train Museum

Make your way out to Rio Vista Junction on Saturday, September 22nd for our Annual Members Day event! This year is shaping up to be our biggest ever! To kick th...ings off, at 10:30 A.M. (the museum opens at 10:00 this day) visitors will be greeted with something we call the "Cavalcade", a parade of railroad cars rolling down the track one after the other! This hasn't been done at our museum for nearly 35 years! Members can operate a vintage streetcar from MUNI, so become a Member if you aren't already and get your hands on the controls! You can also ride behind our seldom seen Diesel locomotive No. 502 North of Rio Vista Junction on a very rarely used section of the railroad! On top of all of this, our Sheffield Velocipede Handcar will make its public debut, giving rides in and out of the Car House 3 Display building! If you're feeling tired from all the excitement, sit down and enjoy a picnic lunch in Laflin Park, while the kids run off to watch the model trains of the Diablo Pacific Short Line Garden-Scale group and full-size trains pass in the background!
