Dave and Kathy of San Diego came into the La Jolla gallery last night and fell in love with 'Jonathan Seagull, Carmel, Callif." last night. I encourage folks to stand next to the art they are thinking of adding to their collection, as it gives scale. Think it does here? It's a set of two 30x40'' photos, framed to 70"x60". $15K, or, at this point w/ sales a bit off from Covid, best offer. ;/)

Happy day after, something to help give our minds a break while things settle down ...

Well, got the first 'vote' done of S. Spain. Voting as in narrowing it down to the top 30 or so from 50 images created last Nov.. The sponsors anxiously wait to... see what they purchased a year ago. I've narrowed down the Big Island III series to my favorite 50 or so images so far. Now the final cut is being made, and I'll post the collection on our website for the sponsors to choose from. When they are done we'll let the public see them. This one made the cut, what do you think? Maybe one of the sponsors will pick it, and it'll then get printed and put up in the show. I hope so, it's already one of my personal favs, I could see it printed on metal as a 5' wide image and hung in our living room! TUL!

Well, here in the La Jolla gallery 'voting' on my favorites from the Big Island series, shot 17 months ago (second time going thru them all). ...The hard part is choosing from so many similars. Which is the best? Between these two, which would you choose, and why? I'll let you know my choice, and why, in a few days. To me it's easy to see why one's more special. Botticelli’s 15th-century portrait of a nobleman in Young Man Holding a Roundel is the highlight of Sotheby’s Masters Week sale series in New York in January. "Just the sheer beauty of this has been a joy," said Christopher Apostle, who has for more than three decades handled Old Masters and is now head of the division. I can't think of a Botticelli like this that's been on the open international market.
