The Schwager Residence is only two parcels south of the Fallow Residence, but closer to completion. The home had to be close to the highway because of environmental constraints and the narrowness of the property to the ocean bluffs. Also, a bridge was built over a wetlands to allow for access to the only area of the property that could be built on. Lucky the owner is a bridge builder! The tile work runs continuous from the interior all the way out to 12 foot cantilevered balconies that provide stunning views down into the ocean rocks below!

A year later, my second zero energy house, the Fallow Residence, being built by John Schmidt Construction, grows from the soil! The building is partially roofed and now is being sheathed with all of its layers for completely fireproof exterior!
