What's on my mind is a big Congratulations go out to Dan Currie, M.AD School of Ideas, September 2020 recent Grad, and the newest designer at Ellen Bruss Design... in Denver, Co. His perseverance, his steadfastness to commitment, and his patience to be successful in good works, awesome. Kudos to you, Dan. I am proud of you. Dan wrote me a letter looking back, looking forward as he is taking the next step in life, and he really says it best in his own words. "As I begin the countdown to my first day of work as a designer, I can’t help but think of an old African proverb: When spider webs unite, they can tie up a lion. Learning to be a team player and the importance of preparation are two of the most important lessons I gained from my time at M.AD. Graduating from The University of South Alabama with a degree in communications, and believe it or not, that experience led me to Atlanta. I heard about MAD through a few professors. They mentioned the collaborative and creative environment, but I couldn’t quite picture what exactly that would look like. Let me reiterate: I had no clue what I was getting myself into. I won’t say I didn’t have talent. I had raw talent. But that changed. I grew more polished and confident each quarter. I learned discipline and dedication through sketching 600 logos a week for Hank's class. Hank, I hope you share this to new prospective students, recent graduates, and everyone who has impacted me. Without the tremendous support from every teacher, and the experiences I’ve gained over the last two years, this wouldn’t have been possible. I went into the program with a single web, came out with hundreds, and tied up a lion. If you remember anything from this, I hope it’s that as you enter a new program, job, year, or chapter in life: we are not alone. Together, we can accomplish anything. Dan Currie, Designer at Ellen Bruss Design

"Beauty of style and harmony and grace and good rhythm depend on simplicity," and, so it is with this beautiful design by Miami Ad School @ Portfolio Center stu...dent, Anaya Reyes, from the renowned Modernism, Theory and Design History class. Her words imagine a story in form," the chair is symbolic of independence. It touches upon the infinite love and support I have constantly received from my mother, and how she provides me with the strength I need to confirm my own independence. The base, of the chair, is made entirely of bamboo, which allows the seat to be securely held by a single foundation." PS: Anaya will be graduating this coming week. If you are looking for an amazing junior designer who can think, make and do... let me know- she's awesome!
