Every spring the creepy crawlies come out to play. It never gets cold enough here to make them all go away. The fleas and ticks are bad this year, we always say. They bite and burrow and itch all day! I want to get rid of them, if only there was a way! Our doctors recommend all dogs and cats receive monthly parasite prevention year-round in Sonoma County. There are collars, and drops, and tasty flavored chews. Call us so we can help choose which is right for you! August 21st, 2020 2:30 pm Dear Friends, I am writing to let you know that due to the recent mandatory evacuation notices from the Walbridge fire, we have temporarily closed the hospital. We know that many of you have already evacuated or are watching closely for any change in orders. Although we are not yet in the official mandatory zone we are very close to the boundary and I have decided it is best for us to evacuate for the safety of our patients as well as the safety of o...ur staff and their families. For those of you who evacuate to the south or east we have put some evacuation resources on our website including a list of boarding facilities and a list of veterinarians in those areas. I am attaching our pet brief evacuation checklist at the bottom of this message as well. While we won't have phones, you can reach us at [email protected] or by using the PetPage app. We will have someone checking this for prescription refills requests or for questions we can help with from afar. Your pet’s vaccines and prescription history are available through your account on PetPage If you don’t already have an account, you can create one if you have an email address on file with us. Once you create your account, vaccines and prescription history will be visible in your pet’s file. I wish you and your families the best through all of this. We live in a wonderful and resilient community. I feel so fortunate to have such an amazing staff and clients at memorial beach vet. I know that we will move forward through this as the need arises. Take care and stay safe and healthy! Dr. Marty See more

August 21, 2020 Dear Friends, I hope this message finds you and your family (furred and non-furred) in a safe place. What a crazy year 2020 has been. We are thinking of you and know that some of you are already displaced due to the fires. Memorial Beach Vet Hospital is on alert and preparing in case we need to evacuate the clinic but we are still here. We are still functioning with our COVID curbside protocol and are putting together resources to help pet families if and wh...en they do need to evacuate. Below is a short checklist of items that we recommend you have for Dogs and Cats. If you think you may need to board your pet be sure that all vaccines on the list are current. Call us if you think your pet needs any of these prior to evacuation. We are running on a short staff but will do our best to help. If we move into mandatory evacuation in Central Healdsburg then the clinic will close. While we won’t have phones, you can reach us at [email protected] or by using the PetPage app. We will have someone checking this for prescription refills or for questions we can help with from afar. Your pet’s vaccines and prescription history are available through your account on PetPage If you don’t already have an account, you can create one if you have an email address on file with us. Once you create your account, vaccines and prescription history will be visible in your pet’s file. As we did last year, we are working to compile a short list of vets and boarding facilities in nearby areas who we can recommend. Be Safe, I’m sending good thoughts your way! Warmly, Dr. Marty
