Life is a precious gift. I don’t think we think of it this way unless we have lost a loved one or experience loss. Or if we find ourselves feeling hopeless. There has been so much loss this year. Sneak peek engagement session for Jake + Grace!! Portland Fall weather is my favorite and we had such a great crisp cold day in the city! I love taking photos of families. The family unit is a crazy thing, you take imperfect people and have them live together and work together and you get an explosion of joy & anger, love and selfishness. It’s crazy! We all carry our own family trauma, I know from my own experience that behind the smiles and giggles there is also pain and stress with life especially during this pandemic. Life is precious and life is uncertain. May we hold tight to these smiles and good memo...ries we have in a time we are tested to focus on the negative. I am aware that kids are suffering with depression at a much higher rate in 2020, marriages are stressed and divorces are happening, money is tight or gone & friendships are tested. Yes this turned into a downer post but hey it’s real and let’s all be open and honest about how beautiful life is but also how hard it is. Yesterday the bride & groom celebrated this young mans 95th birthday! So 10.10.20 was a busy wedding date this year! I originally booked this date with another couple but due to COVID they had to push their wedding into 2021 but Aaron & Lynsay contacted me the day after they moved their wedding date so I had 10.10.20 open!
