I’m grateful to announce that for this month’s Giving Project, Meg Marie Photography will be providing photography for a fundraising event for the incredible Sa...hasra Deepika organization! So excited to be also personally sponsoring a girl for just a dollar a day! Sahasra Deepika, which means a thousand lights, is a non-profit foundation that houses and educates underprivileged girls in Bangalore, India. The girls are encouraged to develop their artistic, social, and academic potential so that they can feel self-empowered and contribute to the community at large. Sometimes in poor families, girls are abandoned so that the limited resources could be spent on the boys. By providing food, education, and housing in a safe, loving, and nurturing environment, Sahasra Deepika gives these orphaned girls a chance to break the cycle of poverty. There are currently 80 girls enrolled, and our hope is to find a sponsor for each one of them.

Where do I even start with this BOMBSHELL @kctdigital ?! I guess HAPPY BIRTHDAY is a good place to begin Like SO MANY of the brilliant and gorgeous women I work with, Karla didn’t feel fully ready for her brand shoot. It took a lot for her to make the commitment. In her own words...I didn’t feel beautiful enough. I was dealing with a lot of self-hatred and boy image issues. The idea of spending an entire day taking photos of myself was terrifying, considering I like to ...fade away in photos. I know she’s not alone in feeling this way. Often it’s not actually about the money or time commitment of booking your brand shoot (you will make that money back x100 at least). What it’s REALLY about is the way we are feeling inside about ourselves. It’s about whether we believe we are actually worthy of being an entrepreneur and charging for our passion. It’s about whether or not we feel good enough in our bodies to vulnerably step in front of the camera. But the good news is you don’t have to feel fully ready to take the first step. Because confidence is built from taking action. And the true test comes AFTER your shoot when by actually sharing the photos and yourself with the world. Karla is SLAYING it with using her photos in a strategic way! It’s been incredible watching her brand blossom since Q1 of this year. I’m SO GRATEFUL Karla decided to take the leap and commit to playing big and elevating her brand. Not only is this woman beautiful inside and out, but she’s a genius when it comes to Instagram marketing and extremely passionate and hardworking. I had my Insta-Glam session with Karla today. And... MIND. IS. BLOWN. Let‘s just say that over delivering is an understatement when it comes to the value Karla brings! Not gonna lie I’m a little overwhelmed...but in a really good way. Because I literally have like a year of personalized, fresh, on-brand IG content ideas now. OMG. Watch out y’all because my Gram is bout to be ON FLEEK!!! Like woah. Yassss collaboration over completion is right girl!! Ive always admired Ania’s Brand Photography since the day I met her. We’ve done several photoshoots of each other. But these by far were the most special photos I’ve taken of this gem and I can’t wait to share them all!!!!!

Thankful to know this incredible human and thankful she asked ME to bring her soul expression Photoshoot to life! She is currently battling cancer but you would never know it because her radiant energy is inspiring everyone to live a FULL life today. Wow!! Thanks for the sweet words Lea Vita Nolan!! This means SO MUCH. It was my pleasure documenting this special day for you and Michael. You two have a beautiful soul and such a fun sweet family. Loved so many things about your wedding day. The first look. The bridal parties energy. Meeting your boys. Lea Vita, your genuine giggly energy! The epic Castle you got married at. The beautiful sunset. All of it!!!

I realize this is going to sound crazy. BUT... Ryan and I didn’t have jobs yet when we moved abroad and very little savings. What we did have is a shared passion and faith for one another and a desire to travel the world. So we figured we just moved to Taiwan first, and then find jobs later...haha.... These photos are from Thailand, which was our first stop on our journey! We were #FOB and lot happened in those first 2 weeks. We rode a scooter for the first time together. We snorkeled for the first time together. We had our first giant water fight in honor of Sonkran. We ate our first TRULY SPICY Thai food together (took 1 bite and couldn’t take a second). We did a 3 hour silent Buddhist meditation in a super hot muggy room and thought we would die. And I had my first traveling break down there. Looking back now, I guess it’s pretty crazy we moved across the world without a job first. But I’ve always been a risk taker and it’s led to the most incredible experiences and accomplishments of my life. If you’re reading this, no matter who you are, I want you to know: you can create the life of your dreams and achieve anything you want. I know it sounds cheesy. But listen... YOU CAN HAVE ANYTHING YOU WANT. But you HAVE to take risks. You can’t wait to feel ready. Or until all the stars align. Or till the world is not against you. Don’t wait till you have the money. Don’t wait just a few more months. JUST DO IT. Name that thing you want most. And go get it. Not tomorrow...today. If I had of waited until I felt ready to move across the world, ready to own a business, ready to get married, ready to put myself out there, ready to move to California... I never would’ve done ANY of it. I hope at least ONE person gets inspired today to stop overthinking that thing you want, and just decide you’re going to have it. Decide that you are ready.
