To be barefoot among the trees, feels as though I am returning to something incredibly familiar. I feel wild, and protected. It is here under this canopy of leaves something greater than me, I call it God, reveals itself. It is in this simple, raw connection with life itself that my faith is renewed. These are big times, 2020 and when my intelectual mind is unable to digest and or comprehend the complete weirdness of state of global affairs and the confusion of whats to com...e...I find ease when I witness of the abundance of the natural world. It is here I can play, feel joy, and feel the resilience of Mother Earth. My faith is renewed. Shraddha-Shraddha comes from two Sanskrit words: shrat (shrad), which means truth or faithfulness, and dha, which translates to put or place; to direct one’s mind toward. Shrat is also a precursor to the English word heart. Place these two meanings together, and they tell you that faith blooms when the mind directs itself toward a deep-seated trutha truth arising in your heart. What ever side of the street you are on... in any particular issue. Are you able to contemplate the other side with out judgement? Or even experience both sides simultaneously? In Yoga this is called Pratipaksha-bhavana, and is a fundamental principle in the wisdom tradition. In practicing yoga and asana we hope to embody two qualities for it to actually be yoga; stability, and ease. The great sage Patanjali expressed posture is to the body, what concentration is to the mind.... Learning to settle in the body over time, facilities experiencing greater ease in the mind. Embrace the dance. If your feeling ungrounded go to the opposite, imagine deep roots anchoring you during this tumultuous time. Your feet are stable, but there is ease. Let’s find the rhythm and bend, so we don’t break. ph @miaastrada Gracias Mia! #ease #yoga #openyourthirdeye #opposites #stability #empathy

Rise Up, get uncomfortable, look for balance, and then return to the soil. Knowing that you are sustained by something much greater, allows for expansion. Ignite that flame in your core, no matter how great the winds, or how demanding life becomes, stoke your fire.

The mind is a loyal servant, but a terrible master. The mind is not the master, but often behaves as if it is. Heart of Yoga What is the relationship between the citta (mind) and purusa (soul). The mind is the instrument with the purusa perceives, since we cannot work directly with the purusa we work with the mind. Through yoga the mind steadily becomes more transparent, this allows for a clean lens and for us to have correct perception. The expression of purusa allows us to... notice how our mind functions, and how to work with it. To know our strengths, and weaknesses, and what causes us more or less suffering. Intention- cool mind, warm heart. Photo credit @lindsay_heatley
