One of the bears we stuffed for RARE Science Inc. today decided to try out the beautiful rocking horse and gliding horse made by one of our talented residents!

We started off our Western Week with a concert on the green! We're grateful for the beautiful weather and the space to spread out while still being together.

Learned about the history of ambrosia and how to cut a pineapple during our Tropical Ambrosia cooking demo today!

Added some Aloha Spirit to Bingo with Hawaiian-themed prizes, Hawaiian punch beverages, and marshmallows as markers (because pieces would be too messy and are too big ). Winners shared their favorite memories of the Hawaiian Islands.

The Hawaiian theme continues with our bear-stuffing service project for RARE Science Inc. One silver lining from the shutdown is that during this time our residents have stuffed over 800 teddy bears for kids with rare diseases! Many thanks to the volunteers who stuff, weigh, and sew these bears!

Added a little Hawaiian music and some hula moves into our exercise classes today!

Since we can't go there, we brought Hawaii here! We're kicking off our Aloha Week with some fun decorations to set the mood.

The pool looks quite different these days! But a silver lining in the mandated closure means our crew is able to work on some projects that require the pool to be drained.

Social distancing but still able to serve! While listening to some great vinyl, we're stuffing teddy bears for Rare Science's Rare Bear program, which gives these cute companions to children suffering from rare diseases.
