Look who stopped by #MillbraeTV today for some mask-wearing, cozy-mittened social distancing! We're happy to announce that we've re-arranged and deep cleaned our offices for safer, socially distanced productions in preparation for our eventual re-opening to the public. In the mean time, stay tuned for some upcoming exciting virtual events next month! We're celebrating Lunar New Year with Millbrae Cultural Committee on 02/13 and will be helping the Millbrae Education Foundati...on Fund the Future on 02/27. Did you know that Senator Sanders is a long-time supporter of local access television? If you want to be more like Bernie, you too can get involved in local productions at MCTV. We're located conveniently by the David J. Chetcuti Community Room, next to the Library and City of Millbrae City Hall. Feel free to reach out to learn more about volunteering with us!

In 2020 Millbrae neighbors came together to start important discussions about race in our community. May we continue collaborating in the name of justice, equality and our anti-racist ideals, not just on a holiday such as this but everyday. Please enjoy this important message from the Millbrae Police Bureau: The holidays aren't over yet, but 2020 has been hard enough! Stay safe out there this New Year's Eve. Social distancing and avoiding gatherings is a MUST, but if you do drink, PLEASE don't drive! Let's all see each other to a safe and healthy 2021! And Happy New Year, Millbrae! Thanks to the Millbrae Police Bureau for producing this video and allowing us to share it!

We're grateful for each and everyone one of you in the community who has joined MCTV for virtual events and supported local media during this difficult year, particularly this holiday season. Thank you to those who joined the City of Millbrae, Millbrae Chamber of Commerce, Millbrae Community Foundation, The Rotary Club of Millbrae and Millbrae Community Television from the comfort of your own homes for the Virtual Tree Lighting Ceremony. We want to wish everyone a very happy holiday season, and we're looking forward to more togetherness apart--and, we hope, eventually in-person--in 2021! In celebration of Indigenous Peoples’ Day today, we acknowledge the ancestral land of the Ramaytush Ohlone people, upon which we live and work here in San Mateo County. There are many ways you can honor the history of the indigenous communities who have inhabited our lands, starting with education. Mapping indigenous populations can be difficult and inherently colonial, imposing questionable borders that weren't always defined in good faith. This map of native lands "seeks t...o encourage people Native and non-Native to remember that these were once a vast land of autonomous Native peoples, who called the land by many different names according to their languages and geography. The hope is that it instills pride in the descendants of these People, brings an awareness of Indigenous history and remembers the Nations that fought and continue to fight valiantly to preserve their way of life." Posted in the comments section are a few other resources to help you honor and self-educate on this holiday!
