How great to start getting staff vaccinated to be able to be in the community more safely for our work! We’re also learning the daunting community vaccination appt process! Kudos to Debra Winski - you go, Deb! And thanks to Kaiser for the props!

So happy to start getting staff vaccinated! We now have first-hand experience with county websites - not for the feint of heart. Looking forward to improvements in the system and more vaccine! You go, Debra Winski!!! Thanks to Kaiser for the props!

"We've created a tiered financing system for health care with commercial at the top and Medicaid and uninsured at the bottom, and we need to change that, because that's where many of our Black and brown communities are. And that's why they're being harder hit by something like COVID. We need to fix it." https://www.npr.org//the-separate-and-unequal-health-syste

Excellent article - ask everyone this week if they've registered to vote! Also know that CA has same-day registration if you absolutely can't register before Nov.3. "A study by the Knight Foundation on 100 million nonvoters published early this year, pointedly noted that if you included did not vote in the popular vote count, the 2016 presidential election would have looked as follows: Did Not Vote 41.3 percent... Hillary Clinton 28.5 percent Donald Trump 27.3 percent Other 2.9 percent" See more

Covered California announced this morning that it would be giving consumers more time to sign up for health care coverage during the COVID-19 pandemic by extending the current special enrollment deadline through August 31, 2020. As a reminder, for up-to-date information, links to important websites, helpful tips, and answers to common questions related to the Coronavirus, access our COVID-19 Fact Sheet for Enrollers. Shortages of protective gear affects non-COVID patients -https://www.nytimes.com//h/coronavirus-masks-ppe-doc.html We have kids living with grapefruit-sized abscesses for over three months who can’t eat or drink and there’s nothing we can do for them because we can’t get P.P.E., said Kay Kennel, the chief officer of Lubbock Kids Dental, a clinic serving low-income families in Texas that has a list of 50 children awaiting emergency surgery. It’s been just horrible, and given the growing number of infections here, I’m afraid things are going to get worse. We need leadership to get the equipment needed to our front-line workers!

It's OK to see the doctor during COVID-19. Your doctor has added safety measures to protect your child during their appointment, such as separating sick and well-child visits. Some clinics offer curbside clinics, where you get care without leaving the car. #covid19cafamilias #LlameASuPediatra #LasVacunasSonEsenciales #LasVacunasSalvanVidas #LasVacunasFuncionan #NoEspereAVacunarse
