Haven’t been out to the trailer in Borrego for a few months. Pleasantly surprised to see no leaks in this downpour we are currently having. TGIF.....Now where is that tasty beverage??

CAUTION-WARNING-BEWARE.....My yearly public service announcement below.... As we have moved to a digital world, online photo theft has become a serious problem. We have a crazy amount of photos stolen from us every year. I could almost hire a full-time person just to pursue the violators. The worst part of the process is when we reach out to the violators and they tell us to F*ck Off and hang up on us.... It's become so commonplace it does not phase me anymore, I just take them to court. We have prevailed every time. I recently reached out to a violator with a reasonable settlement amount for their photo theft and they refused to pay. We filed a small claims case and in the end settled for 10 times more than my original offer. The "I didn't know" or "someone gave me the images" excuse typically doesn't hold up in court. The large stock photo houses make a great deal of money every year in litigation. Last years Covid saw even more theft/unauthorized use of our content. Please do your research if you use images of any kind even if they were given to you. Pay particular attention to images that are being used for commercial purposes as the penalty can be substantial. A quick Google search will give you a lot of good info on copyright and image use which will help avoid a lot of headache for all parties.....

Third weekend of restoration update. Powered up the trailer for the first time yesterday and we are surprised to see almost everything working including the fridge!! All the vintage light fixtures too!!... Fridge got down to -10 overnight. Need to adjust that today. Also found more 70’s literature to display around the trailer. A great 1971 San Diego Fact Book in a drawer. Polished up the bedroom tile to a usable state and replaced a water damaged panel. Insulation was in good shape behind the damaged panel. Bedroom can now be used. Walked out to grab a tool from the truck and the full moon hit the truck and trailer just right. More to come....

First pieces of furniture going into the 1956 Spartan Imperial Mansion today. Quick trip up to Palm Springs and back to pick them up. Removed two layers of carpet (including green shag) to reveal the original flooring.... More to come....

Great FaceBook memory popped up this am of our horseback riding adventures in Mount Laguna around our cabin. Christina Walker of San Diego Trail Riding trailered them up to our place and we rode straight from the backyard in the Cleveland National Forest. After the ride we sat outside with the horses and enjoyed a tasty beverage or two. I walked inside to get something and looked back out the kitchen window to one of the best views of the day. If I remember correct we even ...had our company holiday party on horseback one year. We use to ride frequently......need to get back into it.... One of our best days up there. Like a lot of people I was a big fan of Van Halen in my youth. I think the only poster I ever had was of Eddie and one of the few albums I ever bought were of Van Halen. One of my clients for years was Greg Dorsett of Rock Star Guitars. Anytime he picked up a highly collectable piece he would bring it by the studio for marketing photos. Most of the time they were just guitars to me but anytime he brought down a Van Halen piece I took special interest and carved out some e...xtra time for them. Over the years he brought over a lot of VH items but these were the only two pics I could find for some reason. The bike was a little tricky to get up on my deck for a few images with the sun behind it. There was a fairly good drop off the deck behind us so we took it slow to get it in position. RIP.....

Last time I was here I was in a full hazmat looking suit shooting room sized lasers. Lots is crazy stories there but no time for that. Amazing 15 year client. They needed Exec portraits done today quickly so we setup in the lobby and knocked them out so they could get back to building amazing things.

Always a good time shooting with the Fox 5 News Crew!! Full day today but it was a challenge to keep 15 feet away from this great group. Thanks to @muabyevysandoval for hair and makeup!!
