Looking for a fun, exciting, and self-rewarding career? We are accepting resumes for the rank of Firefighter/Paramedic. Requirements: Current San Diego County, CA State, and National Registery Paramedic License and an IFSAC or Pro Board FF1. Please send resumes to: [email protected]
Those that can't lead, manage. Those that can't manage, micro-manage. Supervising crews to some can be a tricky matter. As a leader, sometimes you have to stay ...back and look at the bigger picture. Your first responsibility as a boss is the integrity and safety of your crew, next on that list is the objective which you were tasked with. There is a time and place to lead from the front or the rear. With both you need to observe and anticipate your next 5 steps like a game of chess. Don’t be a leader with your hands in your pockets, but don’t be that leader with your hands in everything.
I hope you all find a job that makes you retire with the same love and passion you had when you interviewed for the job. Keep that passion burning.
Everyone at the Miramar Fire Department appreciates all of your support throughout the year. We hope you and your family have a safe and Happy Thanksgiving! #thanksgiving2020 #socalfirefighters #firefamily #thankful
Keeping your family and friends safe at home during an emergency even starts with you! - 1st you need to evaluate your home, locate all the windows and doors that can be safely exited during a crisis situation. Do your windows have bars preventing your escape? Does the second and third story have an escape ladder to allow you to climb down? Do the doorways lead to a safe location outside? - 2nd Identify a safe meeting point in the yard or neighborhood complex to assemble ...after exiting the building. **Lastly**. Implement & practice your plan! Did it work? Talk about the challenges with the family and loved ones to find the way to safely exit your home. . . . #FirePreventionWeek #socalfirefighters #nfpa #tipstokeepyousafe See more
This is often hard to do! But we find common ground and we all learn to give a little to benefit the team. We can’t just think about ourselves.

You have to work to succeed.
Last night Miramar Fire assisted SDFD with a fully involved garage fire in the community of Mira Mesa. The fire was contained to the garage and no other structures were threatened. Great job by all units on scene.
