In light of the recent decision to close all Chula Vista public schools, the Chula Vista Elementary School District (CVESD) has made plans to offer meals to area children. Regarding food service next week, March 16-20, all CVESD school sites will provide breakfast and lunch to any child between the ages of 1 to 18. Breakfast will be served from 8:00 - 8:30 a.m. and lunch will be served from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. It is a requirement that any child receiving food must be pre...sent when the food is served. CVESD Child Nutrition staff will be on hand to distribute packaged food items in a paper bag. This will be grab-a-bag-and-go service. Breakfast and Lunch service will take place in front of the school or in the school’s front office. Due to school closures, there will be no eating areas open on campus. ****Information was provided by Chula Vista Elementary School District Board Member Francisco Tamayo.

Today is the first day for 23 new Chula Vista Fire Recruits! These Recruits will be put through a rigorous 20 week academy. Upon successful completion, they wil...l be filling vacancies and increasing the amount of firefighters we have on shift daily. We will continue to implement 4-0 staffing on the remainder of our engines to be NFPA 1710 compliant. Thank you to City Council, Fire Administration and the Chula Vista Voters for allowing us to increase service delivery and better protect our citizens!!
