A Fire Weather Watch has been issued for the Sierra Nevada/Kern county mountains and foothills from late Sunday night until Tuesday afternoon. The combination of high winds and low relative humidity's may create a period of critical fire weather conditions during this time.

Great News! Mariposa County has organized an economic focused Local Assistance Center (LAC) for Tuesday, October 6th and Wednesday, October 7th, in the Maripos...a Room at the Mariposa County Health and Human Services building. The LAC will be in operation from 7am-7pm daily. The LAC will offer a multitude of resources for local business owners, as well as unemployed workers affected by the COVID-19 pandemic. Representatives from Mariposa County economic development, Motherlode Job Training, UC Merced Small Business Development Center and the Calaveras-Mariposa Community Action Agency will be on hand to provide information and answer any questions. In addition, information about business relief and unemployment programs will be available on site. Staff will be available to assist with applications for the programs. Please note that all COVID-19 safety measures will be in effect. Visitors to the Mariposa County Health & Human Services Center will be screened prior to entering the building. All visitors are required to wear a mask at all times, have hand sanitizer administered and temperatures taken prior to entry.
