Marinwood Community Services District 04.06.2021

On this our final day of Marinwood’s Spring Virtual Art Show we thank you for following along with our daily posts. Special thanks to our Juror, Libby Garrison who has written her statement describing her experience viewing and jurying his exhibit. The announcement of the names of the artists she has chosen to receive the six awards also follows. The thought of hurting a ‘New Works’ exhibit after a full year of sheltering in place both terrified me and excited me at the sam...e time. A year without seeing art exhibits, or original artwork for that matter, has been very tough and I have a renewed respect for just how important art is in our lives-mentally, physically, and emotionally. My prize-winning selections are based on my emotional state and how I responded to each work with my heart and head from my computer screen. First Place: Bonnie Kuhr, How I Feel. Second Place: Beryl Miller, Clockwork Orange 2020. Third Place: Traudel Prussin, Inki. Honorable Mention: Amie Buecker, Fear & Fragility. Honorable Mention: Eric Kelly, Hortense Carter-Laveau & The League Of Uncommon Children (Odd Sorts Edition). Honorable Mention: Louise Williams, A Likely Story.
