Four years before the pandemic, virus hunter Nathan Wolfe discovered a threat he'd never suspected. Blazingly intelligent and wryly witty, THE CATASTROPHIST is both "a head-exploding virtuoso science lesson" and "a deep, loving, touching portrait" of a man and his family. #Repost from our friend Imran Sheikh who plays Usman in ‘American Dreams’ which will be streaming 11/10-11/15 for MTC!! Feels pretty awesome to have this West Coast Digital Debut reviewed in the The New York Times This review came out a couple weeks ago and I've hesitated to make a post about it (I have shared castmates' posts). Y'all. I just couldn't find the words. ... I still can't. This is still not real to me. Being in the friggin' paper of record... it goes beyond my comprehension. This will live on, far beyond me. How can I comprehend something that extends well beyond my lifetime? What I can say, what meager words I can cobble together, is that I'm extremely grateful, honored, and, frankly, privileged to have my name along side those immense luminaries you'll find listed therein. My eternal gratitude goes to Leila Buck & Tamilla Woodard. Without those two, this would not be, and I would not be there touching what is beyond words and beyond time. We are doing some damn good work. This play is something we all need now. I invite you to come experience it.

Coming up this weekend, 10/24 - 10/25!! In partnership with 23 other theatre companies nationwide, MTC is co-presenting The Breath Project inaugural festival. Featuring a selection of 8-minute-and-46-second theatrical works, all created by BIPOC artists, these original pieces will stay housed in TBP archives and used as a tool for education and advocacy, as a living time capsule of this moment in history. In the wake of the murder of George Floyd, 8 minutes and 46 seconds ...has symbolized the racial injustice faced by countless Black people across the United States.
