Marines' Memorial Club 31.05.2021

Chesty’s Bar & Grill! After an unprecedented year of forced closure, the 12th floor has recently reopened as Chesty’s Bar & Grill, an homage to Chesty Puller, the most decorated Marine in history, and the beloved Marine Corps Bulldog Mascot. This rebranding allows the Club to provide the camaraderie, libations, and views our members love, while working within the required pandemic guidelines and limited capacity. Chesty’s Grill is open for dinner Monday-Saturday from 5pm-8pm. Dinner reservations REQUIRED. For reservations, please call (415) 673-6672 x254 or email us at: [email protected]. We look forward to serving you!

To the mothers serving in the Armed Forces here and abroad, the mothers covering the home front while their spouse is away, our Gold Star mothers who have lost their sons or daughters in service to our Country, and to the women who have stepped in as "mom" when the occasion arose, we salute your courage and strength. #happymothersday

The Marines’ Memorial was happy to donate some of its furnishings and artwork to the Ellis House at the Naval Postgraduate School in Monterey. This Marine house is a bungalow on campus that students can go to relax, watch TV, and catch up with one another. We hope these items make your house feel a little more like a home!

Our Lobby, The Friendly Welcome "Home" We took you through the history of our 12th floor last month. While that may be the crown jewel of the Club, the Lobby is the heart! Enjoy this month’s post of 75 Years in the Making.

Thank you Janet, for this wonderful review for Marines' Memorial on Yelp! A great intro to 2021! We have been to many functions at this hotel, hosted my sister's 50th birthday party here in 2019, attended Marine birthday balls, had work good-bye lunches for bosses, and stayed overnight in the suite on multiple occasions. The hotel is beautiful, clean, provides great service, and perfectly located right in the heart of San Francisco. The food is superb and the bar is awesome! The views of the City are spectacular. Also, free breakfast for guests - and not like any complimentary breakfast you've ever had. When the pandemic is over please do yourself a favor and check this place out. It's lovely.

Save the Date! Join us "virtually" this coming Tuesday, 10 November at 5pm Pacific to celebrate the Marine Corps' 245th Birthday! The Club is known for our festive Birthday Ball that normally gathers more than 500 attendees to eat, drink, dance, and celebrate the USMC together. This year, we have had to think beyond our normal traditions to pay proper tribute to the Corps. Combining new messages from our President & CEO, Chairman, and Guest of Honor General Peter Pace, USMC... (Ret), plus archival footage from past Birthday Balls at the Club, we will have a virtual celebration that honors the Birthday and helps us come together, even if we are not in the same room. On 10 November at 5pm Pacific, we hope you have some wine (or a martini) and a slice of cake ready to celebrate with Marines' Memorial and our incredible members! (The video will be available on YouTube at https://www.youtube.com/user/MarinesMemorialClub any time after 5pm as well!) See more

Just when you thought Bubba, Jr. and Betty White were enough bully cuteness for the Club, in comes the newest addition to our family (drum roll) Brutus Beau Allen! Born 13 August, Brutus was given his middle name, Beau, to honor his big brother in bully heaven. He loves to eat, play battle with his sister (giving her a run for her money although he’s half her size!) and then turns into a cuddle love bug. As proud Dad of Bubba, Jr., Betty White and Brutus Beau, our General Manager Michael Allen says that he’s a welcome addition to the insanity Be sure to check in on our newest additions during your next visit to the Club!
