The kids are heading back to school, traffic is becoming more congested, the BBQ grills are being stored away for the winter and the leaves are starting to fall...... this could only mean one thing - It's time to start our 35th year of Manor Reno Winners Bowling League! This will be a memorable year as we finish out our run at Manor Bowl and move over to Castro Village Bowl next season. It has many bittersweet memories. Tuesday night will begin league play next Tuesday, August 27th. League play starts at 6:30pm, but prepare to come a bit early on this first night to fill out paperwork and get league fees and dues paid. Monday night will open the season on September 9th. We still might need a couple of bowlers to fill in some Tuesday night spots and Monday has one or two team openings due to resignations. If you know anyone who is interested, please tell them to get in contact or show up on the first nights of bowling. Summer is just around the corner and time to start thinking about a good summer league to bowl in this year. I will be running the same leagues as last year: Mo...nday night at Castro Village Bowl is our Black Oak League. This league has been very popular and grown in size each year. It's a doubles league (two bowlers on a team) and will start on June 6th, run until August 26th and the Sweepers will be held at Black Oak Casino/Resort in Tuolomne at a date to be determined in September. Tuesdays at Manor Bowl will be our Mixed Trios Match Play (always fun and exciting). Start date of May 28th and last date of sweepers on August 24th. Both leagues will be sanctioned through USBC, run for 13 weeks, plus a sweepers event and the cost will be set at the league meetings. Sign ups will be available soon at both centers. Get in on the summer fun and tell your friends too! See more

Congratulations to all of the members of Manor Reno Winners Bowling League and Manor Bowl in raising $1,500 to present to the Society of St. Vincent dePaul of S...t. Felicitas Church in San Leandro as part of our annual "Adopt-A-Family" program. This was the biggest donation ever from our league to help families in our community to have a better holiday season. Members of the church were on hand this past Monday and Tuesday nights to accept our donation and wow, were they surprised and happy! See more

Thanks to everyone for your support of our 2nd Annual Vanessa Brown Homes Scratch Adult/Junior Doubles Classic at Manor Bowl. It was six games of qualifying that culminated with five teams rolling off in a step ladder finals to determine the scholarship winners. Fifth place qualifiers, Travis Hewitt and Jonah Martin took on last year's defending champion, Melanie Katen and Sean Sullivan in match one. Hewitt/Martin prevailed 438-361 and took on Marvin Hale and Dylan Sager and ...went on to knock them out 458-355. Corey Foster and Andrei Tacorda came along and put an end to the Hewitt/ Martin team defeating them 412-365 and this led to a showdown of last year's runner up, Harley Shene and Michael Ascension. The Ascencian/Shene team steamrolled in the championship game and blasted a 489-394 victory. Scholarship winners were: Shene - $1,500, Tacorda - $750, Martin - $500, Sager - $350 and Katen - $250. Winners of $250 in scholarship money in the silver division was Jimmy Hunter/Randy Spengler. Their team outdueled Anthony Scharton and Ben Calibe 1251-1193 in a three-game match. Congratulations to all of the winners! See more
