The IRS is reopening the registration period for federal beneficiaries who didn’t receive $500 per child payments earlier this year. The IRS is doing this to help taxpayers who were unable to provide their information in time to receive Economic Impact Payments for their children. Use the Non-Filers tool on IRS.gov starting Aug. 15 through Sept. 30 to enter information on qualifying children to receive the supplemental $500 payments. To learn more, click here: www.irs.gov/nonfilereip
How about Tax Planning strategies? Give us a call.
If you weren’t required to file a tax return and haven’t yet gotten your Economic Impact Payment, you have until Oct. 15 to send your information to the IRS. Find out more at www.irs.gov/nonfilereip
Money experts are reminding people that the extra $600 they may be collecting in unemployment payments provided by the CARES Act are taxable. That means that people should prepare for their taxes to be higher next year when filing. Call our office at 916-533-9940 for assistance with filing or IRS problems.
